Below are a few FAQs that might answer some of your questions

Do we have to capture every single text book separately?

No, all you have to do is send an Excel spreadsheet listing the Titles that you have and the number of items of that title. We then use that data and create all the textbooks with unique Accession Numbers. That data is installed when we install the system

Can the system print barcodes for each textbook?
Do we need special stationery for the barcodes?
Do we need a special printer to print the barcodes?
Is there a limit to the number of textbooks?
Can more than one person use the system at the same time?
Is there a facility for bulk disposals?
Does the system reflect the condition of the individual textbooks?
Can I get all the reports that are required by the Department?
Is there a backup facility?
Can the system hold photos of the Learners?
Does the system create letters for the Learners showing the number and titles of the books issued to them?
The Department requires us to do a termly audit of the textbooks. Can the system do this?
Does the system keep a record of the cost of the textbooks?
Is there a Backorder system?
All our books already have a stock number. Can the system record these?
Do you have a demo anywhere so we can look at the system?

Can the Library Monitors operate the system without doing any damage?

Yes, the Monitors log on as MONITOR and they see a restricted menu which only allows them to perform the functions that you want them to have access to, usually, Issues and Returns.

Can I have separate collections running in parallel? For example I want to keep my Foundation Phase books separately from my other fiction books.
My school has a large collection of posters for the teachers. Can ProLib cater for this?
Does the Library have to be closed to do a Stocktake?
Can I get support if I have a problem or if I forget how to do something?
Is there a Library manual?
I only have a limited number of copies of the books. Can I reserve a book for a Learner?
Can I issue books for the holidays?
Where does the training take place?
I have mothers that help in the Library but they are not qualified to do Cataloguing. Can I limit what they can do in the system?
We are in an area that has frequent power failures. What happens if I am in the middle of Issuing or Returning a batch of books?
I have a situation where some of my book titles have been captured in upper case and some in upper and lower case. Can I convert to everything in capitals?
Because I have mothers accessioning my books I sometimes have errors with initial articles in the titles. Do I have to correct them one by one?
Does the system cater for Extensions?
Can I Blacklist members?
What happens at year end? Do I have to move my Members one by one to new classes?

Can we have more than one Asset Register?

Yes, you can have any number of Asset Registers.  So for example you can have one register for items bought by the Department and another for items bought from Governing Body funds.

Do we have to capture every asset separately?
What if I want to move assets from one location to another?
Can I keep a record of all the serial numbers for my hardware, like computers, scanners etc.?
Can the system print barcodes for each asset?

We have a very big school. Is there a limit to the number of assets that ProAssets can hold?
A previous system that I used could only hold 12 characters in the description. This was often not long enough to properly describe the asset. Can I use long descriptions?
Can I put a value against each asset for Insurance purposes?
I sometimes need to remember where I sourced items. Can I record Suppliers against my assets?
We are accountable to the Department for all our equipment and furniture. Is there a Stock Take system?
Can I print out a report for a specific set of assets? For example, if I want a report that lists all the printers in the school?
What is the maximum size of the Asset number?
Can I put the expected asset life into the records?
Is depreciation catered for in ProAssets?
